For the past days, my family and I had been planning a very special wedding... my mom's. Yes, my mom is getting married again. Nope, not to my dad (they have separated decades ago) and finally my mom has found her hopefully-longlife partner. I am happy for her.

One major thing about the wedding is the menu for the recpetion. We have decided to have the reception at a nearby hotel. Less fuss, not so expensive since the wedding reception would just be for family members and close friends. My mom asked me about the menu... Boy, did she ask the right person! Not because I am an expert but more because I love food and everyone in my family knows it LOL!
We haven't finalized it yet. But let me show you some of our choices (got the photos from the web): Hungry? I am...

Getting Old?
Lately, I have been experiencing back and neck pains.
I am worried that it has something to do with my posture. I stay seated on the computer chair for hours at a time and after which, I would really feel the pain. I try to massage my neck and do some stretching but the pain always comes back.
Is this because I am getting old? Or simply because I do not have enough discipline anymore on how I should sit properly? Or is there a more serious problem.
I promise not to slouch. I promise to do some stretching in between long work hours.
Oh how I want a full body massage.
Good night everyone!

A Smile to Make My Day
These past days, we have been experiencing sudden rain showers. There was even a day last week when it rained the whole night. I happened to be out with my husband and we were staying at my in-laws' house.
I felt a bit gloomy since I was tired from work and school and it was very late at night. I wanted to go home, take a shower, read a book and go to sleep. An hour before we went home, my 1 and a half year old niece, went out of her room and giggled. She was wide awake at 11pm! She looked so cute wearing her PJ's and she said hi to me. She asked if I brought my dog LOL.
I whipped out my camera and took pictures. She loves it when I take pictures of her. She would do any pose, any emotion...pang-artista ba! LOL.
I can still hear her giggling and laughing as I took these photos. She really made my day.

Peanuts
My day had been very dull. I woke up this morning full of energy. I spent the first 6 hours of my day studying, reading, taking down notes, and organizing my study-work table. After 6 hours, I ate lunch and took a 30 minute nap. Then I fed my dog peanuts. I cannot believe that my dog Zaki eats almost anything! I drop a peanut on the floor, he reaches out with his paw and eats the garlic-flavored peanut... one peanut at a time. Maybe he's bored too.

To Be a Child Again
Sometimes, I would have these silly ideas of how nice and fun it might be if we can be children again just for a day. I saw this beautiful Carousel Ride at Starcity and I was awed by its lights and its size! I do not remember riding one such beautiful carousel when I was young. I do have happy memories of going to Cubao (Araneta Center or COD) and Greenhills. But nothing came close to this Carousel in Starcity.
If I'd be a child again for a day, I'd probably do these: ride on that carousel, eat lots of ice cream, play patintero and block-1-2-3 til midnight, watch Voltes V all over again, make cannonball jumps on the pool, play "teks" and "sipa" til my fingers and legs hurt, learn how to fly a kite, and catch "isdang kanal" once more. How I miss those happy yet simple days!
What would you want to do?

Lomi + Rainy Day = Perfect!

It has been raining since yesterday. I heard from the news that we have a typhoon again. I am thinking of eating a steaming tasty LOMI this afternoon... I would settle for the Lucky Me Instant Lomi, I just add an egg and I'm all set for a tasty treat. It would definitely make my day better. For all those affected by this typhoon, may we keep ourselves safe, warm and comfy!

I Just Love Flip-Flops!
One of my Korean friends commented that one thing she loves about the Philippines is how she can find places to shop almost anywhere and how she find lots of great products at cheap prices. She just loves shopping for shoes -- and I totally agree since I share her love for shopping, haggling, shoes, and bags!
Last Saturday, I was walking along one of the shopping centers and I saw seemingly endless stalls selling flip-flops. All at very low prices! Flip-flops have become popular because they are very comfortable, very affordable and you can wear them almost anywhere... the beach, the streets, school, office (during dress-down days, for some companies), to the market, at home... and you still get to be stylish!
I am a self-confessed shoe-and-flip-flops addict.

Addicted to Bags

I went to Mitch's site today to do some "window shopping"... I have no definite plans yet whether I really am going to buy or just save my money. Despite my uncertainty to buy, I found myself "needing" to buy some bags. I guess I am just simply addicted to bags. My husband frequently complains that I have too many bags. I can't help it, I just love 'em! Here's a picture of one of the bags that I want...

The Kite Runner

I haven't left the house today. Fortunately, I have no work load today so I stayed at home. No schooling too.
Problem is, I haven't done any housework. My original plan was to do some cleaning and probably spend some time in the gym. But those didn't happen.
I spent my day reading The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. Can't let go of it. Same reason as theis very short blogpost.

The Spa
Spe
My friend is trying to convince me to try
A. Swedish Massage
A classic full body massage that is both relaxing and stimulating. This massage helps soothe the muscles, increase circulation and reduces body tension (just what we need). The 60-minutes Deluxe session from The Spa costs P820 for non-members but only P700 for members.
B. Aromatherapy Massage
A gentle soothing massage using aromatic essential oils. Designed to balance the body's equilibrium and improve mental and physical health. The 60-minutes Deluxe session from The Spa costs P1000 for non-members but only P850 for members.
The question is, will I and can I overcome my practicality and "savings mode" and try it this weekend?

My Own Paradise
One of my favorite things in this whole wide world is the beach. I just love to go to the different (and oh-so-many!) beaches here in the Philippines and just chill out. When I say chill out, that means just lying the sand while reading a good book, sleeping on a shaded tree near the beach, swimming on clear blue waters, staring at the beauty of a beach sunset or simply eating and drinking as I face the the ocean.
The terrific views we can appreciate fully, if we have the time to travel out to the numerous islands of the Philippines. In one such travel to Mindoro, I spend a great few days just to detox! I remember eating a juicy burger, french fries and sipping a rich milkshake. Yeah, going to the beach makes me hungry!
My next plan, to sip a chilling margarita while on the beach...

Incredible Edward
A few days ago, my good friend J asked me to see Incredible Hulk the Movie with him. Both of us had nothing better to do (it was his off from work and I had my morning by myself) and so we did. At first, we looked at the different movie offerings available. We were looking for something light since we want to have a relaxing time. I wanted to see Made of Honor and he had already seen Narnia so we settled for Incredible Hulk.
I didn't know that it was Edward Norton who starred as Ben (Incredible Hulk's human form). I am not a big fan of the comicbook movies. I only usually watch Batman and Xmen. So I wasn't all too eager to see the Hulk movie. But when I saw Edward Norton, I was ecstatic! I really like him. He's a very good actor since I have seen numerous movies were he starred.
Suddenly, I became a Hulk fan Not because of the actual storyline but only because of Edward Norton.

Got Myself a Tattoo
Today, I got myself a unicorn tattoo.
It is ultra special because the tattoo was given to me by my nephew. It is a freebie from a bubblegum he bought at the small store near our street's corner. My nephew receives a few pesos as pocketmoney from his mom and he rarely buys candies or bubblegum. Today, out of the blue, he decided to buy one piece of bubble gum.
I was with him when he was opening the gum package, and when I saw the tattoo sticker, I exclaimed "Wow, that is so nice!" My ever thoughtful nephew looked at me and said "So I will give it to you, Tita."
Sweet.
